The Monday morning walk was popular, we all went for lunch after this one as  many of us were getting ready to depart as the weather warmed up & the boating season arrived.
After the snow the river levels rose flooding the fields & making the river in places upto a kilometre wide. The footpath shown here is well away from the river but was still impassable.
First week in March when everyone thought winter was over we woke up to find 20cm of snow had fallen overnight turning the H20 office into a Christmas card picturesque chalet
First weekend in April was open house at the marina complete with barbeque. Said & David looked the part in their chefs uniforms & the food tasted good too.
The locals organised a day trip ski-ing in the Jura mountains for the kids half term holidays which several of us joined in with. Dave & Pam tried cross country ski-ing for the first time but decided it was harder than downhill while Yvette showed  off by taking us on a 15 kilometer hike in the afternoon. It started to snow just before we left & we were stuck halfway up the pass till the snow ploughs arrived making it a very late return home.
Paul couln't resist this tractor & we made him a driver out of a plastic bottle & a grass head which Sam had given him for Xmas. Unfortunately the grass dried off & died so he got a new hairdo from moss off the lock walls, he is carrying a lettuce crop which was very successfull giving enough for several salads.
Also in March we went to Nice & Monte Carlo for a short break & to get some sun. It was much warmer & we had lunch in a cafe on the beach before exploring the town. It would be fun to come again to watch the grand prix you can't imagine how they go so fast on the narrow streets,
We climbed up from the coast to visit the old village of Eze, the cactus garden on the top was well worth the effort of getting there. It is a maze of narrow streets with breathtaking views round evey corner.
